Rotary is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world. There are 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious and open to all cultures, races and creeds. As signified by the motto “Service Above Self,” Rotary’s main objective is service – in the community, in the workplace and throughout the world.

The Rotary clubs representing Monmouth County are Asbury Park, Belmar/Wall, Freehold, Hazlet, Long Branch, Matawan/Aberdeen, Red Bank, Spring Lake/Brielle and Tinton Falls. Community service projects common to most of these clubs include scholarships, dictionaries for all third graders, food banks support, Boys and Girls Clubs involvement, youth leadership training, disaster relief and eradication of polio from around the world. American Cancer Society

American Cancer Society is also a recipient of tonight's proceeds. Their mission is to eliminate cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives through early detection and reduce suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy and community service. WWW.CANCER.ORG

Center for Vocational Rehabilitation

Center for Vocational Rehabilitation has provided what people with disabilities need most for their self- respect and the esteem of others: WORK. CVR facilitates personal growth and helps bring dignity and respect to the people it serves through a variety of vocational and partial care rehabilitation programs. CVR has continuously fulfilled its mission of guiding people to fuller lives by helping them find and hold jobs with well-established programs to promote social independence, quality of life and maximum potential for all persons with special needs.
